Moving out of Temporary Accommodation, not on UC
Moving out of temporary accommodation?
If the claimant is also getting UC then their HB will end and they will need to get help with their rent through a UC Housing Cost Element.
But if they are not on UC but on another legacy benefit, and do not have another change that ends that benefit, they will stay on HB.

However sometimes a LA, in discharging their homelessness duties, has to place someone in temporary accommodation in a different LA but they will be responsible for paying the HB rather than the LA in which the claimant has been placed. This means that if the claimant moves within their new LA area into permanent accommodation it would then be a different LA who would now be responsible for HB, so their HB ends and they would need to claim UC instead.
