This online Masterclass examines the means tested benefit rules for Mixed Age Couples.
The change to the entitlement rules regarding means tested benefits for mixed age couples in May 2019 created a complex system.
This training is designed to help advisers assess accurately what entitlements a mixed age couple may have, what changes they can expect when the older partner reaches state pension age, whether they have to claim UC and how to maximise entitlement.
Using case studies throughout to bring the information to life, this Masterclass is an essential course for anyone working with mixed age couples and provides some great hints and tips.
WORKSHOP PLAN:
Workshop 1 - Friday 8th July, 9.30am - 11.30am
In this session we examine what the mixed age couples rules say, and which mixed age couples would be 'protected' from them. We will also look at ensuring these couples keep this protection and also when it would be lost.
Workshop 2 - Tuesday 12th July, 9.30am - 11.30am
In the session we investigate the rules that apply when a couple become a mixed age couple. When can they stay on the 'legacy benefit' system and be better off.
Workshop 3 - Friday 15th July, 9.30am - 11.30am
In this final session we consider how UC should work for mixed age couples - and how to maximise their entitlement.
