Housing Systems: Combating poverty and sustaining tenancies.

Universal Credit for Lettings

Looking for training aimed specifically at staff dealing with allocations?

"This course made me aware of how important it is to get things right - we could be making people worse off without realising........."
This full-day session is packed full of useful information and practical solutions to make sure you are giving the correct advice at lettings.
This course is for anyone involved in allocations, successions, transfers and mutual exchanges. It covers the Universal Credit essentials concentrating on the key issues and problems associated with moving home and taking on a tenancy. By the end of the course delegates will have an understanding of which new tenants have to make a claim for UC, the problems that they may encounter getting a Housing Costs Element, and which tenants can still get HB to cover their rent. They will be able to offer accurate advice to new tenants to help minimise the impact of claiming UC on the rent account and to help claimants maximise their entitlement thereby enabling them to sustain their tenancy.

In-house course
Universal Credit is more complex than anyone expected and those complexities are causing huge problems for claimants.

Many are not aware why the problem has arisen or how to deal with it.

Some don't even know that they are missing out on money they are entitled to.

This course aims to give delegates the knowledge and confidence to tackle these issues.

Devised especially for those staff who have a basic knowledge of Universal Credit and are now ready to delve into the complexities of the system that they need to know for their job.

This course aids learning by using case studies and discussion and is different to most other UC training.

You will not be disappointed if you book this course.
