CPD: Continuous Professional Development
Continuing Professional Development or CPD refers to the process of tracking and documenting the skills, knowledge and experience that you gain both formally and informally as you work, beyond any initial training. It's a record of what you experience, learn and then apply.

All our courses - both face-to-face and our E-Learning courses - enable you to gain advisory skills and knowledge and as such can be claimed as CPD.  Some of our courses have been registered with professional bodies for their qualification courses/CPD schemes so if you need to claim hours for a qualification course let us know and we’ll check out what can be claimed.

For purposes of recording CPD you should not only record a brief description including the learning outcomes of the activity, but, more importantly, how you benefited from and / or applied the learning outcomes of the course, together with any personal comments or observations about what insights it gave you and what you might now do differently.

For employees, CPD helps you keep your knowledge and skills up-to-date. Completing CPD helps build confidence and credibility, allows you to showcase your achievements and equips you with tools to cope positively with all the changes in benefits over time.

For employers, the primary benefit of CPD is ensuring that standards across the company are high and consistent. CPD also promotes work engagement from the workforce and general commitment to job roles.  Having employees undertake CPD allows the sharing of best practice and support and contributes to maximising staff potential, improves staff moral and provides a useful benchmark for annual appraisals.
