Open Access: Managed Migration - Timing of the Claim

The DWP are currently sending out around 80,000 Migration Notices a month to claimants in receipt of Income-Related ESA or Income-Related ESA and Housing Benefit.

The Managed Migration process gives claimants a 'window' of at least three months in which to claim UC. This gives the claimant some control over when they make their claim for UC.

Timing of the claim within that 'window' can be important - it can help them make a smoother move onto UC as well as maximise their entitlement.

This E-Learning course looks at:

a quick review of Managed Migration
timing to maximise the Transitional Element
timing to avoid erosion
timing to help make a smooth move onto UC.

Aimed at: front line staff who are supporting IR-ESA claimants move onto UC through the managed migration process.
