If the claimant can't claim HB because they fit into one of the categories, and they are part of a couple, then it is worth considering whether their partner could claim instead.
From 6th April 2017 some families will find that although they can claim HB, they might not have all their children included in the HB award - this is due to the 2 child limit.
(NB: the rules restricting Universal Credit Housing Costs to only certain 18-21 year olds does not affect HB)
