About us

Housing Systems began as hbnotes in 2005, providing a website on Housing Benefit for social housing providers, to enable them to sustain tenancies and maximise their tenants’ income. We now have over 300 subscribers including voluntary agencies and charities who benefit from our expertise in Universal Credit, Housing Benefit and other benefits.

We are a small, friendly, inclusive team. We encourage creative ideas and listen to each other. A top priority is having a happy workforce and a mutually supportive environment.

Our aim is to be a force for good, helping our users provide sound, up to date advice and information to their customers. The Housing Systems website incorporates a number of resources including benefit calculators, standard letters, flowcharts, mapping tools, summary sheets and leaflets.

We also provide training in the form of workshops, e-learning, webinars and blended learning.

About you

You’ll be a team player, working collaboratively with colleagues across the company, but be self-motivated and able to work on your own.

You’ll have a quick and analytical mind, have excellent written communication skills, and be hardworking and committed to Housing Systems’ values.

Experience in, and a good knowledge of Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Housing Benefit and other benefits is essential, as is a commitment to help our subscribers prevent and solve their clients’ / tenants’ benefit issues.

You will be able to decipher benefits legislation and policy and understand the implications for claimants and for landlords.

You will be passionate about making a difference and contribute to our broader work to deliver the resources our customers need to support benefit claimants.

An exciting hybrid opportunity, this role offers flexible working between home and an office on the Broughton Hall Estate near Skipton. As a minimum, the successful applicant will be required to commute once a month, to participate in our monthly team meet-up in or near to Skipton.
